Your typical American has a motor vehicle and goes wherever they feel like going to find the things they want to do. They're not with the same people or even the same kinds of people all the time because they don't have to be. Their ecosystem is anywhere their SUV will go. They don't need group cohesion, but if you're in a group of boaters, bicycists, or gardeners, you talk about engines, components, and weeds. Most people still go by the old, quite sensible rule, '"Don't talk about politics and religion." That doesn't apply here online because we are all f--king strangers.
