When has a "destabilized" glacier caused a sudden 2 feet of sea level rise before? If anyone on the shore thought that was actually going to happen, if they were seeing major sea level rise, they would be practically giving beachfront property away, That's not remotely happening. In any case, most people who own beachfront property will be dead in 30 years anyway. Why not enjoy it as long as possible?

Researchers with expensive gear and expeditions have to find a reason to go back incidentally, even though " the overall melting of ice is slower than expected".
