We all have negative emotions. The big question is how we are projecting them when we are around other people. Personally, if I am causing someone else anxiety I wish they would tell me about it right away so we can work something out together. But if someone is awash in negative emotions and I have to deal with a co-worker who is always grumpy and negative, they are going to have to get that straightened out with therapy and/or medication. It's not my responsibility to deal with their problems outside of work.

Everyone has a bad day, but at some point they need to plaster on a fake smile and issue a cheery greeting to everyone they have to deal with. It's an expectation for adults in our culture. Yes, we should share our negative feelings with our family and friends because that is why we have them. But others who can't fix the problem shouldn't be burdened with them.
