This essay was chock full of sound advice, most of which boils down to trying to have the best life you can with what you have now. I would seriously limit the amount of complaining that is done to friends about being alone though, because it’s a total bummer. If they could help you, they would. Eventually they are going to tire of hearing about it, and tell you that all of the good ones are taken and that you are better off being alone. Once they say that, they’ve established that as far they are concerned you’re already in the best possible situation you could be in. And you might be.
