There is a fantastic book about the anarchist squatters movement in Amsterdam by anthropologist Nazima Kadir who lived among them for 3 years called The autonomous life?: Paradoxes of hierarchy and authority in the squatters movement in Amsterdam (2016).
It turns out that when you remove the hierarchies of class, education, money, and institutions from a society of people, the old hierarchy of the strongest, most badass men returns, and they have the women cooking, cleaning, and having sex with them, while weak men, no matter how politically correct they are, are despised.
