The USA typically has over 800,000 new citizens naturalized every year, and about 6,000 US citizens renounce their citizenship generally for tax purposes. Of course that doesn't include the hundreds of thousands of people who are often risking their lives to cross a desert or an ocean to come to the USA illegaly. So on balance no one is going to be missed. Most of the new immigrants to my city are SW Asians with PhDs.
I see a lot of expats crowing about how wonderful it is in whatever country they moved to over and over on Medium, and good for them, but it gives the impression that they can't let go. Shouldn't they be immersing themselves in the language, culture, and politics of what ever country they moved to?
