The last time I saw Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famer Willie Stargell, I was waiting for a walk sign on Fort Duquesne Blvd. and he pulled up in a big shiny station wagon full of screaming kids, which I assumed were his grandchildren. The car had a PA vanity lisence plate that said "POPS", so I knew he didn't steal it.

I like the fact that I saw one of my chidhood heroes for the last time right across the Allegheny River from where the 12 foot tall bronze statue of him stands today.
