The giant bipartisan law to fix education was No Child Left Behind, and I can tell you from experience that everyone knew it would fail from the very begining because the expectations were unfair and unrealistic, and then it did fail. I know from experience that there are some fantastic public schools out there, and some that are basically a babysitting service for poor kids.

We have to accept that half of the population is of below average intelligence, yet they are just as important as everyone else, and carry an equal vote in more ways than one. If you are creating a standard that 3/4 of the population can reach, it has to be a minimum standard.

I don't care what a barista is doing besides making my cappuccino, and I'm sure they prefer that. We are polite, the barista gets some money and I get a coffee, and everything is beautiful.
