The French philosophy about colonialism was to turn the more intelligent members of their colonies in Algeria, Indochina, French Polynesia, Mauritania, Senegal, Guiena, Chad, Mali, Ivory Coast, Niger, and the others into Frenchman, and replace their savage pagan cultures with the French way of doing things, like their language, clothing, and everything else. American black jazz musicians becoming French was acceptable as well.
