That was interesting, and according to Wikipedia the Germans abducted 600 babies for Lebensborn from Slovenia. But the Germans had a small occupation force in the Slovenian part of Yugoslavia. It was the more numerous Italian Facists who were the ones that really did terrible things to the Slovenian people because they also considered Slavs inferior, and they wanted Slovenia to be part of Italy proper. They implemented a process called "Italianization". They sent between 8-12% of the population to concentration camps, and they outlawed the Slovenian language and forced people to change their names to an Italianized version. There was martial law, summary excutions, hostage taking, and ethnic cleansing, but no Italian officers ever suffered any consequences for their war crimes. Everybody focused on what the Germans did, and that continues.
