That was an interesting analysis, but I think you have to consider who put the NSDAP in power. The early Nazi party was a bottom up operation and virtually all of its active members were WW I veterans, many of whom were in France and Belgium when the war ended. As far as they were concerned they were still winning after a hideous sacrifice, and suddenly they are defeated in a railroad car by civilians. So much of what the Nazis did was serious get-back for that, and there were millions of other veterans that got right on board. After what the soldiers had seen and endured in the trenches, nothing seemed too cruel in the retribution. They would make everyone pay for their betrayal, even their own countrymen. V is for Vengance, V-1 and V-2.

There is nothing remotely like those veterans in this country right now. Most of my veteran friends are more concerned with their bass boat or motorcycle than taking over a country full of knuckleheads.
