That predictable weather continues where I am. It's in the teens F outside, and we are supposed to get a lot of snow tomorrow. Hot weather doesn't stop people from building things by the way. Concrete cures best in heat and can't be poured in cold weather. Things grow better in heat too.
It is astonishing that there are people in the world that live in appalling poverty and repression. The West tried to straighten that out in Afghanistan for example, but the strongest people in the country didn't want it. They preferred their traditional indigenous way of life. Ethiopia is fighting yet another war over sand, and there is another famine as a result. If nations have agency and their leaders are completely incompetent, that's what you get. Luckily in most of the West the leadership is spread among people outside of the central government. Corrupt bureaucrats aren't running the electrical grid and the food supply, business people are, and they have to keep them running efficiently to make a profit.
Nothing goes on forever, does it? We are all looking at our own end, probably following a lot of suffering and infirmity, no matter what happens. If you see a fault you can fix while you're here, go ahead and do it. If you find faults with other people and point that out to them, they will probably tell you to go to hell.
