Thank you for your considerate response. The immediate situation in Southern Madagascar seems pretty dire, and for the residents to survive a lot of petroleum based aviation, truck, and ship fuel will have to be burned to move food to them from places where it is plentiful, like Europe and the USA. That this humanitarian aid will contribute carbon to the atmosphere is no more a consideration than in Tigray on the Horn of Afica where famine is being caused by the war they are having with the Ethiopians.
