Since this article is about freedom of information and race, I feel the need to point out that on the continent of Africa that there is very little freedom for writers, journalists, or academics. Telling a joke criticizing the rulers of many African nations will not get you good ratings on late night television there, it will get you shot in the head and fed to crocodiles. Egypt, the African cradle of civilization, is a dictatorship with some of the most repressive censorship laws in the world, and is considered worse than Russia and China. Criticize the war that Ethiopia, where the human race began, is involved in with Tigray right now, and you will be in mortal danger. Journalism is an extremely dangerous occupation in most African countries.

This doesn't excuse white people from being truthful, or support any attempt to supress historical information by anyone, but being a book burner or wanting to shut people up who are trying to make you look bad isn't race specific.
