My understanding about Ron in this story is that he likes being homeless. “A lot of us want to be here,” said Ron. “We love the compassion of it. We love the fact that we belong." So the problem with Ron and the other people who rejected the city's offer to live in a building and eat for free for six months is not housing. They obviously don't want it. The problem is that they want to camp permanently, and the people who were already residing in the place where they want to camp, people who worked and jumped through a lot of hoops to live there, don't want them camping in their neighborhood. If what you want to do is live in a tent, there's a million places you can do it where you won't piss off a bunch of other people.
