Most people don't read the labels that on on products now. People that are interested in calorie counting or salt content may read a lable on food, but most folks just rip open the package and start chowing down. I'm curious where things are made, so I look at that and ignore everything else. Who is going to be the person or people that will determine these numbers? By tabulating these things and printing them on the package you are actually adding to the carbon footprint of each product, because everything humans do has a carbon footprint.
