Millions of men can watch a single film, but they can’t have sex with one woman. Buying a piece of software or a download is a helluva lot different than paying someone to have sex in a parked car. It’s safer for everyone involved. Prostitution in the USA is completely unregulated outside a couple of rural counties in Nevada, whereas the pornography industry is regulated, and the performers have agents and lawyers because it’s a legitimate business. Serial killers prey on prostitutes because their pimps won’t report them missing and they’ll get in a car with a stranger, so they are an easy target. You can make the argument that prostitution should be legalized, but even the Dutch are second guessing that because of human trafficking and the other bad stuff that goes with it.

Mainstream society favors the bright side because most people want to live on the bright side. Only sick people want to wallow in misery. I was a punk rocker back in the day, and for all of the angry lyrics, spitting, moshing, and ripped clothing, it was fun as hell or I wouldn’t have been involved.
