Maybe it’s because the elderly, the obese, and those with pre-existing medical conditions aren’t the people who are at these protests, and they are the ones who seem susceptible to the worst effects of the Coronavirus. In my city the protesters are virtually all younger. Even if they got the virus they would be unlikely to seek care since they wouldn’t display the illness and therefore they’re not counted. Since many of the protesters are suburban kids, outbreaks would not be limited to the urban center if the virus was being spread because of the demonstrations.
