"Japanese Americans were incarcerated in camps during World War II for simply being Japanese." Right. They weren't put in the interment camp for being Asian, since the law didn't affect Chinese immigrants who were actually more numerous than the Nisei. They were placed in the camps because there was a fear that some would aid the Japanese if they invaded California. Japanese laborers in Hawaii helped a downed Zero pilot after the Pearl Harbor attack, so there was a rational basis for that fear. There was also another reason. If there had been an invasion, California rednecks would have probably massacred the Nisei, and those fences kept people out too.
Since people of Asian descent are on average far and away the best educated race in America, I'd say the schools are doing a helluva job on their behalf.
