Isn’t it possible to protest without pallets of plastic water bottles? Civil rights and anti-war protesters back in the 1960s managed to do it since they didn’t exist. Nothing screams “capitalism” or “global warming” like a single use bottle full of potable water when it’s available for free all over the place. The vessels are wasteful, and instantly turn into pollution once used because the Chinese don’t want to sort them anymore. Can’t the protesters just bring their own drinking water? If they need extra water to wash off the tear gas, dumping it from a sixteen ounce bottle on your face wastes most of it and then you are holding a piece of trash in your hand or dropping it on the ground. Can’t someone take responsibility for providing water for that purpose that isn’t a Coca-Cola product coming out of a bottle made of petroleum, or has the revolution not reached the point where people take responsibility for things?
