In the last few years I've seen the younger musicians Sturgill Simpson (Country), Trombone Shorty (Dixieland), Samantha Fish (Blues), Pokey LaFarge (Roots music), Michael Kiwanuka (Soul), and Lady GaGa (Pop) live. They all rocked like a motherf-cker, as rocking as any of the classic bands I saw in the Seventies and Eighties, and they are better musicians. Shorty's band is like Zep on steroids. The greatness, and hardness, and loudness of ROCK has seeped into everything else. If you are looking for music that seriously rocks, it is not neccessarily a rock band that is playing it.
