In Downtown Las Vegas is the new and fantastic Mob Museum. whose official name is the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement. It is a real, state of the art, very enteraining and enlightening museum dedicated to organized crime in an old federal courthouse. I 'm a history buff and have been there 3 times, and it gets better every time. They recently added a section about gangsters in the movies and on TV. They have Tony Soprano's track suit, and also the slugs pulled out of the Bugs Moran Gang after the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. They have a speakeasy in the basement where they are actually making whiskey. It is a very popular for a museum that sits across the street from casinos.
The crimes of Jesse James, Dillinger, and Bonnie and Clyde are re-enacted every year. There is a whole genre of hip-hop that is named after gangstas. The one thing that unites 95% of the men in this country regardless of race, ethnicity, or class, and that is that Goodfellas is one of their favorite movies that they could watch hundreds of times. That's who our heroes are.
