I’m trying to wrap my head around who this new Chorus app is supposed to benefit, and have come to the conclusion that it is primarily the female friends of the dater. If they were to hook you up with a friend of theirs who was a head case and had poor personal hygiene, you would probably take it as a personal slight. “Do you really see me as being in the same league as them?” With this app they can have all the fun of matchmaking without any consequences if they set you up with a total loser since they don’t know them personally either. I don’t see many guys approaching their male friends to do a search for them on this service, because in doing so they would not only be admitting to using dating apps, but would also be admitting that they are failing at it. Guys are also less likely to take on this kind of responsibility, even for a close friend. And I’m not really sure how this service would improve or increase the field of desirable people to date, which seems to be the main issue. Maybe it just shows that the other users have friends, although there is no way to be sure about that, just like everything else online.
