I'm hard pressed to imagine how any lower income workers worked from home since most of the jobs they do require their physical presence. From what I saw, fast food restaurants were going gangbusters the whole pandemic, so those workers didn't work from home and of course they wear uniforms. A lot of custodial workers lost their jobs, and a lot of them probably won't be back since the facilities they cleaned won't reopen. Construction didn't slow down even a little in my area, so laborers kept working as did landscapers. The roads and greenery are in the best shape they've ever been. Hardware stores must have made a fortune over the pandemic because they didn't close and people worked on their houses. Retail other than hardware, liquor, guns, and groceries suffered a lot of layoffs, and many of those stores will never reopen, but people who are delivering things to your door were and are in high demand. So most lower income people didn't work from home because they can't.
