If a complete military victory by the Ukraine army and paramilitaries is even possible, how is that they went from 2014 to 2022 without driving the "insurgents" out of the Donbass region? Now the Russians control even more territory and they are digging in. Ukraine recieved the amazing Javelin anti-tank missiles and training in how to use them in 2018 during the Trump adminstration, but wisely didn't use them against static defenses which they are not designed for. They are a defensive weapon against vehicles, not an offensive weapon, and the Ukranians used them superbly, claiming they were going through 500 of them a day in the first days of the war. But now they no longer have that advantage, since to recapture their territory they will have to go up against fixed fortifications, not tanks in the open

The Russians will fight to hold the ground they have taken, particularly the land bridge to Crimea, with everything they have because they paid dearly for it. They are already pouring concrete for bunkers. We are probably looking at years of meat grinder trench warfare like WW I, unless a peace agreement is reached that gives Russia at least some of the territory they took. That's unfortunate, but it is reality.

And how long does President Zelensky remain dictator of Ukraine? He just extended martial law by decree. If he maintains a warlord's power long enough, he might get used to it.

By the way, using the words "resistance" and "fighting" to describe advocacy when there are people who are actually resisting, fighting, and dying on a battlefield while following orders, eating food out of a box, and sleeping in the dirt for months at a time, is a bunch of bullshit. You and the others who espouse theory from the safety of conference rooms far, far behind the lines are not the equal of those who are doing the real fighting and resisting.
