I was having dinner on the sidewalk patio of my favorite restaurant in downtown Pittsburgh this summer on a lovely evening. My friends and I began to notice that large groups of women in their 40s and 50s were walking down the street together. Row v. Wade had just been overturned, and for a moment I thought they might be protesters, but they were all well dressed, attractive, and happy. Then I began to pick up on the t-shirts; New Kids on the Block. They were heading to the PPG Paints hockey arena to see the favorite boy band from their youth, without Marky Mark.

I'm going to make a guess that virtually all of the NKOTB fans that attended that concert got their 300 dollar ticket's worth, and then some. They will never forget it. But it was also important to Joey, Donny, Jordan, Danny, and Jon, not just because of the money, but because this is what they do. It is their art. And how much better is it to perform in front of 15,000 people than in a bar? I have the feeling that the author has never been to a concert.
