I lived in the DC area from the mid-80s until 2012, and saw the billions of dollars worth of security upgrades that were added to the Capitol building after 9/11 while taking groups of HS students to visit Washington. That a group including children and senior citizens without an armored bulldozer got into that building without being let in, or utter incompetence on the part of the entire federal government who had literally thousands of cops in DC at their disposal, is ridiculous.

But I'll be honest. Did I enjoy seeing our "leaders" cowering on the floor of the Capitol building in their custom made cashmere suits before the people? Yes I did.
