I live in Pennsylvania and see the Amish on Amtrak all the time. The women carry the luggage. There is visibly a lot of inbreeding going on, and then there is this:

If it wasn't for their quaint costumes the Amish would be considered for what they are, which is a weird ass patriarchal religious cult. Of course cults are hard to leave, and it would also mean leaving every friend and family member they have..

I would like to hear about a couple of those other countless people who were forcibly removed from primitive cultures and tried to go back. Once someone has used a steel tool, there is no going back to the Stone Age. People have been fleeing the countryside for cities for centuries.
