I have had demonstrations going on near where I live for the past few weeks, and the only issue I have with it are the helicopters continuously circling. As long as the demonstrators don’t break anything or hurt anybody, let it rock. It’s their right. It will give all of the participants a story to tell their friends, and I know the cops are loving that overtime. On the other hand, if the social unrest consisted of random people busting caps willy nilly on their neighbors like in some of the neighborhoods near me, I’d probably move far as away from that as I could.
Police are supposed to be public servants, but they can’t be held fully accountable to the people if they have a labor union that prevents sorting out the bad apples, and defends any union brother or sister no matter how bad they are. That’s the real problem, because the police are not going away.
