I have a millennial son that is making vastly more money than I ever did because I chose to be a teacher, and he is an IT systems manager because he chose to do that. I know other millennials who are doing quite well for themselves because they chose a field that was remunerative, and they work hard at it. The percentage of people in this country that have a college degree has over doubled since most of my friends graduated in the late 1970s, so a degree has less value now. It is more important than ever that students obtain degrees that can provide them with a good living. Anyone that seeks a degree in the liberal arts or grievance studies without the intention or ability to go to law school should get their head examined. College has turned into an absolute racket, and you should be questioning what the hell they are doing that is costing so much more money for a piece of paper that is of questionable value.

By the way I got out of college with zero debt because I went to a state teachers college where I worked a side job and lived like a pauper. My degree was paid for by the GI Bill, Pell Grants, and money I had saved in the service. I’m not bitching about any of it because I wanted to teach, and I did. If I was into making a lot of money I would have done things a different way.
