I am a capitalist. I've done side work plumbing virtually my entire adult life, and love that tax free cash. My customers love my low prices and competent work too. I also do some contracting in the tourism industry in my city, and I've owned a hobby business. So yes I have benefitted from capitalism without being even remotely wealthy. I've never made over 100K in a year. The fact that I have skills that allow me to make a fast profit gives me more freedom. And I've bought some really awesome stuff with that extra money, including an art collection, really great bicycles, and a recent trip to Vegas. I get a lot of pleasure out of all of that.

I have a lot of friends, I'm close to my family, and I've had some terrific dogs. But it's funny, I have forgotten most of the co-workers, bosses, students, neighbors, drinking buddies, and even lovers I've had, but I could probably tell you every single one of the hundreds of rock shows I 've seen since the 1970s, including the opening band, because it's that important to me. None of that happens without capitalism. I don't want to watch folk dancing, or any other free, approved, half assed entertainment.
