Have the Indonesians discussed the plan to move 9 million people to Borneo with Malaysia and Brunei since they also own part of the island? Malaysia and Indonesian already have multiple territorial disputes going on, and they had an undeclared war over Borneo that went on between 1963 and 1966.

I regularly vacation at Virginia Beach since I have a friend that owns a house there by the way. You almost never see a “For Sale” sign, and there is new construction on the boardwalk. Most of the people in my friend’s neighborhood of high end houses are retired military, and I doubt that they particularly care about sea level rise or subsidence killing their golf course quality lawns since they won’t be around when it happens. I went to VAB when I was in the service in the 1980s to hang on the boardwalk, and I know they dredge and move the sand around, but the beach itself doesn’t look substantially different than 1981.
