Good for you. But you didn't consider that the product you criticized had an additional benefit for other people who don't live like you do. They wouldn't sell the pods if it wasn't better than what was available in some way. That's the beauty of capitalism. If no one wants a good or service the provider can't sell it, and there is constant innovation to make something they can sell.

I don't think that you are too avid of a gardener or landscaper if you don't know what Roundup is. I don't use it either, but you have to be conscious of it's presence in mulch or soil that you get from somewhere else even if you are just using it for flowers. If the dirt is from a business besides a hardware store, institution, or the government, beware. Professional landscapers go through tanks of the stuff. It beats digging by a longshot.
