Go to a used bookstore or even a thriftstore and gaze upon the thousands and thousands of forgotten thinkers and ideas, and of course that is just the tip of the iceberg. Fashions in thought come and go, and there is always some new way of seeing things. Most intellectual pursuits are like dust in the wind. On the other hand, things that are being sold actually have to work, or people won't buy them.
