Go back through history and look at the insane consumption of the nobility in whatever land or time it happened to be in. The palaces and the tombs and the yachts are absolutley nuts. But only a handful of people lived like kings because they could FORCE everyone else to do their bidding, and of course everyone else lived like shit because of that. Given the freedom and ability to consume, people do, just like the pharaohs. It's absolutely hard wired in humans. Working from any other perspective is just delusional.
