From the linked article by the Guardian: "More than two-thirds of the murders of people trying to protect forests, rivers and other ecosystems between 2012 and 2021 took place in Latin America, with 342 killed in Brazil and 322 in Colombia. In Mexico, 154 were killed, and 117 in Honduras. The Philippines was another country of concern, with 270 murders."

Comparing what you are doing to the folks that got rubbed out, in many cases by their own governments, is disingenuous. You are doing something completely different than they are. Getting people hooked up to the internet is linking them to a hell of a lot of capitalism, porn, crypto, gambling, and other stuff that has nothing to do with the climate except in a negative context.

"Adding insult to injury, she even read off a random group of African-American names, interrogating me as to why I wasn’t collaborating with them." Get off of your high horse or continue to fail.
