Every contractor or technician I've ever met who digs wells or works wiith buried piping uses dowsing. I've successfully done it myself to find buried copper water pipe multiple times. That there isn't a scientific basis for dowsing's efficacy doesn't stop people who are focused on making money from using it, so there must be something going on there.
