You might have also mentioned that Mitsubishi, the company that Mr. Yamaguchi worked for, was building the A6M Zero fighter plane, the most numerous Japanese warplane in WW II. Mitsubishi built almost 11,000 of them, and many of the late war production were used as kamikaze suicide planes because most of the good Japanese pilots were dead by then. Mitsubishi used slave labor extensively for war production, including captured American POWs in defiance of the Geneva Convention. People’s sympathy for Mr. Yamaguchi might dim somewhat if they knew he was a slave driver, but Imperial Japan was horrible, as easily as morally bad as their best friends the Nazi Germans.
