Anti-intellectualism takes many forms. If people haven't taken the time to learn about or understand something as complicated as the fine arts, anything other than a pretty, realistically rendered painting is going to look weird and stupid. I know this is supposed to be humorous, but to me it's just a depiction of philistinism.
