An entire culture doesn’t have a consciousness. We’re only dealing with individuals, or groups of individuals in the abstract. I find that trying to look at other people’s point of view, even people I disagree with, is a good way to get along with them and thus actually get some positive things accomplished. But anyone that considers me an “oppressor” is not someone I’m going to work with, or hire to work for me, and I would not recommend them to work for or with anyone else. I don’t care why they feel that way, and certainly no one should have to read a long ponderous book of radical theory to figure it out.
