After reading a lot of climate alarmism on Medium, it may also be possible that humanity will reject technology and scientific advancement altogether and live in small collectives in earthen yurts and eat organic sprouts. Seriously, if people are really worried about emitting carbon, giant kerosene burning rockets should be the first thing to go. The ISS is being prepared to re-enter in the next five years, and the Chinese talk bigger than they can do like most totalitarian states. When the ISS burns up it will all be up to Elon Musk to continue human space exploration, because NASA is just a dithering bureacracy now.

But really, there is absolutely no reason for a human to go into deep space until a place is found that is worth going to, and of course that might take tens of thousands of years just to get the report back. And for God’s sake, there is no reason for people to live any longer than they do now. If scientists can figure out how to do it for a space mission, every doddering fool will be living until they are 200 years old. I’m only in my sixties, and I want to throw every smartphone in the trashcan, and most new music is terrible. I had to watch Saigon fall, AND Kabul? I have a parent in their 90s still living, and they are totally bewildered by the present world, beyond their dementia which they absolutely have to cure before life can go on much longer. Priorities.
