800 giving circles in a country of over 330,000,000 people? There are hundreds of thousands of active religious congregations in the USA who pool their money, do charity work, and help the unfortunate, and they don't count? Why is that? Do they not fit into some kind of model?
By the way, the annual budget for Medicaid is way north of 600 billion dollars every year, and Medicare is over 800 billion. No one dies on street in front of a hospital because they can't pay in the USA. If the American Medical Association wanted socialized medicine we'd have it tomorrow. We have the best paid physicians in the World and they would like to keep it that way. Can you blame them?
