You are totally wrong about that. 50 years ago there would be someone at the plant, office, lodge, local, or where ever you worked to handle your action. You could even get credit! You told the bookie your bet and boom, done. You had to pay up if you liked your kneecaps, and they had to pay up if they liked your business. This was happening in my high school as well.
